Illegal Buildings Demolition In Tegal Alur Cemetery Almost Done

Socialization had been done before demolishment. Thus, residents could demolish the buildings by themselves

Around 70 percent of illegal buildings stood atop the Tegal Alur Public Cemetery (TPU), Kalideres, West Jakarta, demolished. The location will be used as a disposal site for accommodating excavated soil from the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project.

"50 units of illegal buildings had been demolished. But there are still leaving some buildings and will be demolished soon. This is because the cemetery should be free from illegal buildings," Head of West Jakarta Parks and Cemetery Sub-Department, Hasni Said, Monday (3/2).

Thousands of Cemeteries in W. Jakarta will Be Arranged

Hasni claimed that his side is still coordinating with related units regarding buildings that have not been demolished. Most of them are used as residence, restaurants, and florist stalls.
